Lose It Big

From losing to living

Beaches

I know this is way out there and totally different but, hey I am different anyway. My wife and I have decided we are going to take our three kids to the beach this summer for vacation. The kids’ ages range from 4 to 9 years old. When I have gone all I need was my cooler, a pair of shorts, and the beach. Now I have to think of other stuff for the kids (in case they don’t want to lay and drink with dad on the beach). Now here is one of those honest confessions of myself, I have more friends here than in real life. I live in Indiana and don’t want to travel to the west coast. We are trying to keep the drive around 12-13 hours. For my out of the country friends I will forgive you for not having any clue…hehe. Anyone have any suggestions?

I will be no help here since I live in Florida and the beach is a 30 min drive for us. But I will share that you will need A LOT more stuff when going with kids. It is ridiculus the amount of stuff we bring for a 2 yr old and a dog. LOL If you ever come to Florida – I am your girl! I can get you anywhere. 🙂

I have lived from the Midwest to the east coast. The best I can do for directions is follow the sunset. Too bad you cannot spend winter on the coast and summer in Indiana. I am planning a trip for this weekend and have chosen apples and peanut butter to accompany me. Not the best option, but it will do (may keep the kids occupied for short time) until I can use one of my phone apps to find a good place to eat. Frolicking in the sand will be good exercise!

Suggestions for how to keep the kids occupied?
Stuff to do at the beach, buckets, mini shovels, but also the basics. Colouring books, books, outdoor toys like frisbees. Give them both active and laid back activities.
